Mamre Marsh Wilson was born in Milford, Connecticut. With her family, she moved regularly between Charleston, WV and Westchester County, NY before
eventually settling in North Carolina. She attended college in Hacketstown, NJ and has since taken the Education for Ministry course from the School of Theology at the University of the South.
She has worked in theatre, television, as a secretary, as a media buyer for an advertising agency, and, most recently, as an author and artist. She also devotes time and attention to St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Beaufort's Historic Preservation Commission. She also is currently serving as a Board of Trustee member for the NEHA (National Episcopalians Historians and Archivists), as a Historiographer for the Diocese of Eastern North Carolina and as a Chairman of the Board for the Beaufort Historic Preservation Commission.
